Well today I had my first mini panic about swine flu. My journey to work everyday involves train tube tube one way and tube tube train the other.
If you've ever been on London Underground in particular, then you know our system is old, it's packed during rush hour and it's quite the incubator, as being the oldest underground network in the world, as we like to brag, it don't have the greatest air ventilation system.
So I am standing almost nose to nose with someone and it occurs to me that one sneeze or cough from someone infected with swine flu, even if they're not feeling unwell (they may be incubating) is going to gift a few hundred people those lovely virals. I have a compulsion to watch the Dustin Hoffman movie Outbreak, and I start to cover my face with the newspapers I'm carrying like that's gonna help me! I need a mask.
Depending on who you listen to N95 masks are the ones to buy as they are the most effective for keeping the virus at bay. They are different to regular dust masks, as they have smaller filtering holes (don't quite know what the real term is but it's the N95 mask that you want help avoid catching the H1N1 Virus. I wish I had one this morning and this evening packed Ttt-ttT.
Need to get my car in the garage and drive to work. Feeling proper paranoid now!
